I was reading today an interesting post over Douglas Karr's blog about the reasons why he canceled his Basecamp account. I'm not a big fan of Basecamp, and seriously never use it, but I stopped at Douglas comment when he say :

While reading the 37 Signals blog over the last year, I've noticed that the tone of the blog has changed dramatically, becoming more judgmental and finite rather than inquisitive and exploratory. Case in point, this post. 37 Signals totally dismisses online/offline applications on the premise that connectivity is something we will all have, everywhere.

I think that's what happen when someone start blogging his thoughts without good background or not deliberately. I'm not a reader of 37signals and not following what they are doing, beside ROR news, but reading that "offline web applications just doesn't matter." I can understand that they are missing something. I'm not here to convince about offline web applications or defend or attack 37signals, but I call it"irresponsible posts" especially that it came from a professional. Avoid swearing, and bad language as possible, read over the web and try to share your ideas with others, don't be selfish, be open to new ideas, and finally be responsible. The more your respect your readers, the more you get respected.
