There is a new AJAX online reader now on Amazon where you can read your books online via an AJAX-based interface. There is different options similar to PDF where you can choose between single page, continuous reading, zoom in and out, panels, annotations ... There is even options for highlight, bookmarks, copy, print ...etc ! In the left bar you can purchase the book, search inside it, or jump to the different available sections. Of course this feature will be available for publishers who have signed for the Search Inside! program. Amazon Online Reader is using Prototype, and if you look at the sources you'll find a debug console implemented in javascript, fault of not using firebug ?. I think there is more hidden behind this giant, very web 2.0 company !
