Written by Jeffrey Sambells, Cameron Turner and Michael Purvis, Beginning Google Maps Applications with PHP and Ajax is very useful if you want to build your own applications for fun or profit. The book cover the different issues in its 11 chapters from your very first google maps, how to work with third party data, and advanced map features and methods. There is a great section on improving the user interfaces of map applications and many interesting examples. If you are newbie looking for something good to get started with Google maps and PHP, or even if you are an advanced developer, both are recommanded to get this book. There is also an authors' website for additional tips and advice.
