Last week was more than busy with tons of projects and todos, and like every January lots of stats than coding. You may noticed the lack of posts on AJAX Magazine, but we wasn't totally off. So here is a roundup of what's going on, of course that's not everything :

Meebo, the AJAX instant messenger, announced $9 million funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Sequoia Capital, two of Silicon Valley's top backers of hot Internet start-ups. With a number of users increased to reach one million in the past three months, meebo become the most popular AJAX chat application. The company launched in September 2005, received its first funding from Sequoia Capital in December 2005 and currently employs 12 people. While Meebo's 2007 predictions didn't mention any financial dream, maybe it was obvious ?

WikiSeek, finally launched its beta version with an idea to provide a better way to search wikipedia. The awaited search engine by the creator of WikipediA, seems to be very experimental as the result didn't looks relevant at all for me, maybe for being restrictive to wikipedia and websites linked from there. It uses AJAX for suggestions to refine your search results, which is pretty useful. The new service is totally monetized by Google AdSense program with a very long list of sponsored links. You can use their wiki to provide feedback.
