Yahoo! Launched Yahoo! Pipes a new AJAX application to create Mashups in a very original visual interface built totally in YUI. You can create pipes by dragging pre-configured modules onto a canvas, and then adding user input, operators and filters to build the final result. A debugguer lay in the bottom page gives the possibility to monitor inputs, outputs, URLs ... You can use pipes for example to watch eBay prices on a specific keyword, create Upcoming.org Combined Feed, aggregated News Alerts, look for an apartment Near Something ... You can start by browsing available pipes, clone and change or simply create your own.
Pipes is a hosted service that lets you remix feeds and create new data mashups in a visual programming environment. The name of the service pays tribute to Unix pipes, which let programmers do astonishingly clever things by making it easy to chain simple utilities together on the command line.
