W3C Web API group published a first working draft of Progress events 1.0 specification that describes event types that can be used for monitoring the progress of an operation, part of the Rich Web Client Activity. The document published defines events which can be used to monitor a process and provide feedback to a user, particularly for network-based events. A Focus on the five events (loadstart, progress, error, abort and load) and their interfaces for use with XMLHttpRequest and AJAX applications mainly, but should be usable in other relevant contexts. The group hopes to publish a Last Call draft by June 2007, so you are encouraged to submit your comments on this new specifications. See the document for mode details.
