According to numbers released by The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and its independent research partner PricewaterhouseCoopers, online ad revenues continued to grow at a quick pace in Q4 2006, reaching nearly $4.8 billion posted Kate Kaye at ClickZ News. The highest reported quarter overall which makes total spending in online advertising hit closely the $17 billion in 2006. The online advertising business have registered 34% growth in comparison with last year's spending.

In the past 18 to 24 months especially, said IAB CEO and President Randall Rothenberg, "Major marketers in all categories are coming around to the fact that, yes, the Internet is a great direct sales tool, but in addition it’s a great brand building and brand awareness tool as well."
